MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN — Wisconsin Clean Cities is partnering with the Wisconsin Propane Education & Research Council for a half-day workshop focused on the multiple benefits of propane autogas as a vehicle fuel, the partners announced today.
Wisconsin Propane Autogas Answers is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 18, 2019, at The Ingleside Hotel, 2810 Golf Road, Pewaukee, Wisconsin. The event will feature discussions on the economic, environmental and energy security benefits of propane as a motor fuel; information about on-road and non-road products are available for fleets; available tax credits and incentives as well as details about installing propane fueling stations. The national industry leader from the Propane Education & Research Council will also be on hand sharing details about trends in the field.
“We’re excited to work with our partners at the local and national levels to raise awareness of the multiple, diverse benefits of propane autogas,” Wisconsin Clean Cities Executive Director Lorrie Lisek said. “Propane autogas supports the Clean Cities mission of promoting the use of domestic fuels, which reduces our nation’s dependence on imported oil, improves air quality and supports local jobs while saving money for fleets.”
The event is perfect for fleet managers, vehicle providers and equipment managers as well as anyone interested in learning more about the multiple benefits of propane autogas. Those who currently own or operate a propane autogas fleet or fueling station are encouraged to attend as well.
Propane autogas has a proven record of success in a wide variety of vehicle applications, including school transportation, public and private transit, delivery services, law enforcement, and work trucks.
Globally, propane autogas is the most widely-used alternative fuel. Nearly 90 percent of propane supplies are produced in the U.S. Fleets using propane autogas can significantly reduce greenhouse gas, NOx and SOx emissions compared to those using diesel and gasoline while also cutting fuel and maintenance costs.
The Propane Education & Research Council is a nonprofit organization that provides leading propane safety and training programs and invests in research and development of new propane-powered technologies. PERC is operated and funded by the propane industry.
Now in its 25th year, Wisconsin Clean Cities is a nonprofit organization serving the entire state of Wisconsin and is one of nearly 100 U.S. Department of Energy Clean Cities coalitions.
