University of Virginia (UVA) in August 2019 began a pilot for an EV bike for on campus activities. This vehicle replaces a diesel grounds vehicle for safer clean campus activities. The EV bike pictured above is from Coaster Cycles. According to the Coaster Cycles website, their mission is to inspire communities and brands to move, connect, and deliver with the world around them. They are eco-friendly, American made, cost efficient, and comes with E-Assist. The Coasters are made just outside of Missoula Montana and are supported through local government partners such as the Montana Department of Commerce, Big Sky Economic Development, Montana Department of Labor & Industry, and the Missoula Economic Partnership.
Also shown in this image above is a plug-in Chrysler Pacifica and solar photovoltaic panels on UVA Facilities. UVA is a NAFA Sustainable Fleet accredited facility.
