Diesel emission Successes, South Shore Clean Cities 2019

In 2019, South Shore Clean Cities wrote a successful $1.1 million grant application that assisted our members & partners through the U.S. EPA’s Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) grant program.

Building and Moving America is a $4.3 million dollar project that uses engine & vehicle replacements to reduce diesel emissions in the goods movement sector in Northwest Indiana & the Chicago region.

South Shore Clean Cities Communications Director Lauri Keagle partnered with Local 219 this fall to produce & direct a video highlighting the successful projects, shooting on-site with grant recipients at The Port of Indiana-Burns Harbor, Homewood Disposal, Wendella Boats & Welsch Ready Mix.
