The Denver Metro Clean Cities team recently visited the Phil Long EV Outlet, the first used car dealership of its kind in Denver and Southern Colorado to exclusively sell hybrids, plug-in hybrids and all-electric vehicles.
This dealership outlet serves as a model for future used EV sales throughout the country, expanding the market for EV purchases and making the buying process for consumers easier and more accessible.
The EV Outlet was established by the owner of the Phil Long franchise, who believed consumers needed a place to explore electric vehicles and that creating this dealership would put Phil Long ahead of the curve as electric vehicles become more prevalent in Colorado.
Robert Strange, Sales and Store Manager of the EV Outlet, has similar sentiments, predicting that the EV Outlet will be one of the top spots in the state for prospective EV owners.
The EV Outlet builds its inventory with cars from other dealerships in the area, including from other Phil Long dealerships, and consumers may also trade in their used EVs when they visit the EV Outlet.
All the vehicles, most of which have low mileage, receive a rigorous inspection that checks for any mechanical and powertrain issues, and the batteries are all tested to ensure they charge as they should.
The EV Outlet will be hosting its grand opening in mid-July where Drive Electric Colorado will be present to provide support and to answer consumer questions.
DE-CO will also be partnering with the Phil Long EV Outlet to bring education and resources to EV owners and first-time buyers.
