For decades Roush has helped businesses across nearly every industry take an idea from design, engineering, prototyping and testing to production.
Perhaps the most well-known products are the alternatively fueled buses and trucks from ROUSH CleanTech, but many don’t know that Roush has also worked on helicopters, rockets, and even a military vehicle called the Dagor.
Here are some of Roush’s most impressive contributions:
- Supercharged Performance
Since 1976, Roush has increased the horsepower of stock engines by installing their very own supercharger. Today, Roush Performance has pumped more than 775 horsepower out of a 5.0L V8 engine.
- Frontline Clean Fuel Innovation
The ROUSH CleanTech Ford 7.3L V8 is used in Class 4-7 trucks and school buses. Operating with clean-burning propane reduces NOx emissions by 90% compared to the current EPA standard.
- ULA Vulcan Rocket
Roush’s advanced engineering team provided United Launch Alliance with design, engineering and 3D printing support for the development of its Advanced Cryogenic Evolved Stage (ACES), the upper stage of a space-bound rocket.
- Bell Helicopter 505 Jet Ranger X
To support Bell’s goal of securing orders for an aircraft that did not yet exist, Roush engineered and constructed three full-scale Bell 505 Jet Ranger X helicopters with full fidelity in six months to display at an international trade show.
- Polaris Dagor
Roush and Polaris Defense partnered on a completely new “larger” class A military vehicle — the DAGOR. Roush offered its engineering experience and flexible manufacturing capabilities to the program.
- P-51 Mustang
Roush reverse engineers and applies modern manufacturing, design and materials expertise to vintage aircraft parts.
- Refined and Reduced NVH
Noise, vibration and harshness, or NVH, is a key part of what Roush has done for high performance cars, like the Roush 2021 Stage 3 Mustang, as well as conventional aircrafts, helicopters and kitchen appliances. Our ability to significantly reduce NVH has dramatically improved value for customers and increased sales for our partners.
